The Chris Carrino Foundation for FSHD is a non-profit organization working towards improving the lives of those affected by Facioscapulohumeral Dystrophy (FSHD) by funding specifically focused scientific research.  FSHD is a degenerative muscle wasting disease for which there currently is no treatment or cure.  Through its efforts, the Chris Carrino Foundation for FSHD encourages, promotes and funds scientific and clinical research of FSHD.  We conduct fundraising events and solicit grants and contributions from individuals, private foundations and others, for the purpose of sponsoring research to help advance the study and understanding of FSHD. Our goal is to assist in identifying a treatment and cure for the disease.  We disseminate information about FSHD, encourage additional public support and raise awareness of the necessity for more research funding.
